Rental FAQ

I would love to rent a trailer, where do I start?

Please submit a rental request through our online portal, either under the tab "rental request" or select "rental reservation" next to your preferred rental floorplan. We will respond within 48 hours with an estimate and RV Rental Application. In order to secure the reservation we will need both a completed application and deposit. Please note that if you are unable to submit an electronic application, our rental managers are available Monday-Friday from 10am to 4pm at our place of business. Please call ahead to schedule an appointment.

Do I have to purchase additional insurance?

No, insurance is included with your RV rental.  TowTally Camping will verify proof of insurance on your tow vehicle 48 hours prior to departure.  Liability coverage must extend back to the towable.

How old do I need to be to rent an RV?

You must be at least 25 years of age to rent an RV.

Can I add additional drivers to the rental contract?

Yes, however each additional driver must be present at the time of pickup and have a valid driver’s license.  Additional drivers must complete a rental contract and be listed as a permissive driver on the auto insurance.

Can I see the unit before I make a reservation?

Typically our units are not on site. Either they are out on vacations with customers or being serviced by our team. Please note that ALL OF OUR UNITS are less than two years old, and are serviced and detailed between each rental. We provide floorplans and interior pictures of each unit for your planning needs.

What kind of security deposit is required?

We require two types of refundable deposits.  $500.00 damage deposit and $100 cleaning deposit.  If you are bringing a pet there will be an additional $100 deposit. All deposits are fully refundable. Deposits are made by a an authorization to your credit card and in most cases expire after 10 days. We reserve the right to extend the authorization in circumstances where damage has been caused to the RV.

Do I need to schedule my rental pickup?

Yes, all pickup and returns must be scheduled. Rental Pick-Ups are available between 2pm and 4pm. If available, early pick-ups can be made upon request. Anticipate your rental pick-up to take approximately 1 hour for a full orientation and processing of damage deposits.

When do I return the RV?

All returns must be scheduled. Returns are due back between 9am and 11:00am. Under certain circumstances late returns might be possible for an additional fee.

Is there an option for delivery to my campsite?

Yes, we outsource to a local transporter who will deliver, setup, and pickup your rental. The fee will vary depeding on how far away your campsite is from our business. Tank evacuation is included in the delivery fee, but if your vacation is lengthy, you will be responsible for emptying the tanks mid-vacation. If you would like to explore this option please provide the details in your rental request and we will send you a delivery quote in your rental estimate.

What kind of instruction will be given about the rental?

TowTally Camping offers a free orientation that will explain the basic operation of an RV.  This process usually takes up to one hour.

What is provided along with the rental?

We send our trailers out with the neccessities for connection and functionality at the campsite; this includes power, sewer, and water lines as well as chocks and levelers.  However, we do not include anything inside of the trailer such as linens, cleaning products or kitchen utensils.

Are grocery stores available near the pickup location?

Yes, we will be happy to provide you with this information.

Are pets allowed in the RV’s?

Yes, pets are allowed in the RV’s and must adhere to our invisible pet policy. There will be an additional nightly fee, as well as an additional refundable pet deposit.

Is smoking allowed in the RV’s?

No smoking or vaping of any kind is allowed in any of our RV’s. Smoke odor will result in an immediate forfeiture of the $500.00 damage deposit.

Do I need to return the RV with gray and black water tanks empty? 

Yes, both holding tanks need to be empty prior to returning the RV. This does not apply if TowTally Camping is delivering the RV or you purchase prepaid waste evacuation.

Do your RV’s have advertising on the outside?

No, TowTally Camping has no advertising or logos on our units.  We respect our customers’ safety and privacy.

How much does it cost to rent an RV?

We post our rates on our website for the entire world to see. No hidden fees here. If you still have questions please call or email.

Are your rates higher during the holiday months?    

We do not charge extra on holidays.  Why would a holiday increase your nightly rate?  We are first come first serve.

Is there any special equipment I should have for my car?

For travel trailer rentals your vehicle must be equipped with a power brake controller and have 7 round standard RV wiring with flat pins. Optional equipment to ease the towing burden on your vehicle include weight distribution hitches, and sway control. Some people also use extended mirrors to increase visibility behind the towed trailer.

It is important to be aware of your vehicle’s maximum tongue weight capacity as well. This will ensure you are not towing a RV that is unsafe for your vehicle.

Can I borrow someone’s tow vehicle?

Borrowing a vehicle is a very common scenario when renting an RV. With proper verification, yes you may borrow a tow vehicle. Typical requirements would be  letter of authorization from the vehicles registered owner, the owners insurance, a release from the owners insurance agency authorizing a permissive user of the vehicle, and that their policies liability coverage extends back to a rented towed travel trailer for vacation purposes.
